Home sale & a crazy squirrel

We sold our home in Massachusetts after it was listed for only 6 days! But it wasn't without it's drama. First, we had to swallow our pride (or pocketbook) and sell below what we owed on our mortgage. So we basically paid someone to buy our house. Then, 3 weeks before closing, a gray squirrel got into the house from the chimney. In its effort to get out of the house it scratched up windows and doors to cause thousands of dollars of damage. After a few quotes we agreed to pay the buyers $6000 so they could have the damage repaired. Fortunately the buyer's parents live on the same street, so they were open to working with us through all the drama. Whew! So now we are not homeowners any more, and it will likely stay that way for a while.

Out of the Mouth of Babes

Silas went up to Chris Saturday morning and stated, "Okay, this is what we're going to do today so that you can play with me. First we'll work on your surfboard*, then we'll go skateboarding." He went on with his elaborate plans to spend time with daddy. But he was happy enough to go to Target to get a new bike, then he and daddy went to the beach park to ride around.

Zeke was sitting at the table when I pointed out, "Zeke, you can't eat breakfast with a binky in your mouth." So he moved the binky to the left side of his mouth, pointed at the right side of his mouth and said, "Like this?" He just cracks me up!

*Chris is working on shaping is own stand-up paddle board. They cost over $1000 so he thought he'd save money by making his own. I think he's having a lot of fun too. Now if only I could get that foam dust out of everywhere!

On Target

To my joy and gladness, Target has finally come to Hawaii. So we made a family trip to the store on Saturday. The biggest purchase was a bike for Silas that is his size, but everyone got a little something.

I got Keilah this cute sun dress. The first thing I've bought for her besides diapers.

For good measure, here's Zeke riding his trike a few days ago. We got him some 3T clothes. Yes, our 2-1/2 year old is in 3T!
