Anniversary

As of yesterday, Chris and I have been married for 11 years! Yes, 11 years ago we were sealed for eternity in the Oakland, California LDS Temple. It has been a wonderful 11 years full of adventure, change, understanding, fun, and love. Bring on the next 11!!

Commercials!!!

Silas usually wakes up too early for me, so he goes out to the living room to watch TV until I get up. This morning he didn't like the channel I'd left on for him and started changing channels. After a little while he comes into my room with my cell phone in his hand and says, "Mom, there's a commercial on that says they can fix your belly button if you call now." Groggy me says, "You're too susceptible to commercials and I'm trying to sleep." But he insists, "But mom, it's free if you call now and they can fix your belly button." (Can you tell I'm unhappy with my post-pregnancy belly button?). Finally he leaves and my waking brain realizes that Dora the Explorer shouldn't have that kind of commercial. I pull myself out of bed to discover he's watching a shopping channel that's now moved onto bras! Good for a laugh anyway!

Father-son project

Chris and Silas finished the stand-up paddle board, and it looks good!
So today we all tried it out on a beautiful day. Here's Silas.
We even got Zeke to go out.
Keilah stayed on the beach and looked pretty.

Then I tried it. I was wobbly, but I didn't fall in.
Now it's your turn.

Funny Zeke

The other day I went into the boys room to get them ready for bed and they were hiding behind the curtain. I said, "Oh no, I'm all by myself." They shuffled and I said, "I think I hear a mouse!" Then Zeke said, "squeak, squeak." I just bust up laughing and they came out. Where does a 2-year old come up with that?

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! Here's a Mother's Day picture of me and the 3 little blessings that made me a mother. I love them so much! (Poor Keilah really needed a nap though, so that's why she looks tired.)
I should also mention my wonderful mothers. My mom who sacrificed so much to try and take care of us and teach us, my step-mom who has been like a mom in every way and was a strength through those awkward teen years, and my mother-in-law who is a great example of love, generosity, and strength. LOVE YOU MOMS!

Silas's Hula

Silas's school had a big May Day celebration this morning. So here he is with his kindergarten class performing "May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii". He's a little distracted by the video camera, and he can't wait to be done, but it's cute nonetheless.
